Teaser for Icelandic thriller Stormland hits the web

Teaser for Icelandic thriller Stormland hits the webIcelandic director Marteinn Steinar is gearing up for the production of his next solo film Rokland (Stormland) based on the novel by the same name by Hallgrimur Helgason, the author of Reykjavik 101. Starring everyone’s favorite actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, the project has not yet begun shooting, but Steinar and the film’s production company Pegasus – in their search for investors – have already rolled out a pretty slick teaser trailer, TwitchFilm reports. With few quality films coming out of Iceland in recent years, we’re really looking forward to this one as it looks very promising.

The story revolves around a young man who lives in a small village in northern Iceland and hates just about everyone. He’s a blogger by day and manages to gather around him vast amounts of enemies with his writing until he’s basically made an outcast from his home town and losing everything and everyone that is important to him. Distraught and angry he takes his horse and rides south to the capital with a gun in his pocket with the goal to assassinate the prime minister and start a revolution.
