Russian sci-fi action film Forbidden Reality gets slick new trailer

Russian sci fi action film Forbidden Reality gets slick new trailerFreshly renamed from its earlier titles Smersh XXI and The Interceptor, Russian sci-fi action hybrid Forbidden Reality is back with a nice new trailer and slated for theatrical release in late 2009.

Directed by first-time filmmaker Konstantin Maximov and based on the novel by popular sci-fi writer Vasiliy Golovachev, Forbidden Reality will blend lots of ass-kicking action with some slick-looking visuals and an explosive storyline. While perhaps not on par with last year’s Inhabited Island (2008), production values look good.

The film is about an agent who is betrayed by his partner while transporting a new psychic weapon. Believed to be dead, he escapes and takes new identity so he can live in peace. But he is later forced to return to Moscow to confront a secret organization, led by his former partner, that attempts to use the dangerous weapon in order to take control over the country.

The Russian release will take place later this year. Be sure to check out the new trailer below.
